Return of Curious Nicole.. such a fitting title for me I suppose
It was great catching up with WIE girls yesterday at Union Market in DC. I had been wanting to go to check out the Rooftop for a long time since I saw it but hadn’t had a reason/made it out to that area yet.
A few weeks ago, I was schedule to go to Union Market with V but ended up not being able to make it. In turn, V filmed the area already so I had a 3D view idea of the entire area — one of the highlights that I remember the most was the long stairs — there are a lot of staircases going up from the Rooftop to Union Market — and V filmed it all and them walking up and down and up and down.
Yesterday I rode the metro in with C. On the metro ride there she randomly volunteered that she was wearing 5 layers of clothing under her really heavy Canada- snow proof down jacket which is supposedly already warm. I thought that was a interesting choice of conversation starter for our 9 AM journey — but I assumed she was really cold and just had 5 layers on — thought it was interesting she volunteered that information but didn’t ask her more. We ended up being nice and cozy for the first hour and half and had a nice tea and avocado toast with the other girls inside Union Market indoors. Eventually though, I asked if they would like to check out the rooftop above. We went outside and sat at a table and C brought up her 5 layers of clothing again. B asked the question I thought about asking but didn’t — why are you wearing 5 layers of clothing? Do you just get that cold? Her response — made my day. Paraphrased but what I got out of it was:
C:Because its Nicole! You never know what you’ll get with Nicole.
Me: What??
C: Well whenever I hang out with you, its like you never know. We’ll start here and target this area, but then you’ll be like wow! Look at this thing — its only a 10 minute walk from here. We walk there — but wait… theres another thing thats only 10 minutes walking from here. So when you suggested Union Market as a central meeting spot — I wasn’t sure if that meant we were going to stay inside and eat inside Union Market — or if we would venture the cold and eat on the rooftop or if Nicole sees another something that piques her interest — it means we’re braving the cold and walking another 10 minutes around the block to discover something and then another 10 minutes to another place. So I just dressed for all occasions and am prepared.
(B be laughing with her thin sweater on — not prepared to go anywhere outside of Union Market Indoors)
Me: Woooopsieeee. That sounds like me…. andddd this isn’t the first time someones mentioned something along the lines of that with me. Guess I’m a nomadic… TOO MANY THINGS TO SEE AND DO!! SO LITTLE TIME MEEP.
